This was, and still is, a membership that was as much about ones standing in society as it was to join this beautifully curated and maintained club, there are tales still told of extravagant parties with attendance from European Royalty, long term residences from scoundrels evading the law and the creation of some of the most iconic (and potent) cocktails.
